as an Individual Member and Convenor of the IAW Commission on the Digital Divide from the Netherlands [our IAW Commission report is in the IAW Annual 2024 Report, page 20-22] of the International Alliance of Women (IAW). "Our most burning issue is to endTFGBV (Technology Facilitated Gender Based Violence)". I attended the International Meeting in Bankya, Bulgaria 5-9 September 2024. I stayed in Hotel Bankya Palace between 4 - 10 September. It was a pleasant stay and very nice to meet so many 'old' and 'new' IAW friends from four continents. I liked the Intergenerational Dialogue between Rosy Weiss, Honorary President of IAW with Sung Sohn, founder of Education for Social Justice Foundation very, very much. Rosy presented her book "Traveling in Friendship and Politics, 1982-2010". Rosy Weiss her personal stories of her Presidency contributes to the herstory of IAW. I liked her WHY and HOW in her many speeches she shared memories of the women and the women's movement of a given country in order to not again reinvent the wheel. She is a GREAT role model and feminist for me and others. I liked also the Keynote speech by Iliana Balabanova, President of Eurpean Women's Lobby and Co-founder and Chair of the Bulgarian Women's Lobby. She shared with us privately nice to know stories about her country Bulgaria and in her speech used also a quote by Simone de Beauvoir about women are agents of change and the recent UN report about the SDG's (SDG 5 is about Gender equality). Rosy Weiss used this quote of Simone de Beauvoir "As I started to write about me, it became clear that I had to write about the situation of women."

In 1937 women got the right to vote and to be elected in Bulgaria. At this photo (right) you see Iliana Balabonova with two members of her team. The right one is the woman from the Bulgarian Women's Lobby who gave her advice ín November 2023 to me: it is better to fly to Sofia. What is very special about IAW is Peace. Peace has to be a concept and has to start with the mind. Banner text of Peace tent in Huairou 1995 ''Change the Culture of War to a Culture of Peace" was mentioned a.o. in the IAW Annual 2024 Report by Manju Kak the Secretary-General of AIWC (All Indian Women's Conference). Manju Kak wrote "We must ensure the right to live in peace and security, with access to food and medical services, without fear of endangerment, oppression and warfare (...) 'Right to Peace is a fundamental human right'". I became a member of Vrouwenbelangen (Dutch Society of Women's Rights) when I was a student in Groningen (in the North of the Netherlands where Aletta Jacobs was born too) and am a feminist since 1979. This was a topic during the 120 year Celebration of IAW who started with demanding Votes for Women in 1904 and partipants enjoyed singing togehter the March of the Women Music by Ethyl Smyth 1910. As a historian fond of herstories I want to celebrate a special woman The Bronze woman - the mother of Eve Nobrega whom I didnot know before. The last afternoon of the meeting we went by bus to Sofia and the following day we, the 13th IAW President Mr. Lyda Verstegen and I,

said in the morning goodbye to the participants of IAW's Historic Bulgaria Tour. At the end of this blog I write a BIG thank you to IAW treasurer Antonia Lavine, Executive Director National Council of Jewish Women San Francisco - Bay Area, who organised in her country of birth, Bulgaria, a.o. Hotel, Tour and many, many other things.

Boomer die in de 'derde leeftijd' zit en actief blijft!

Als Boomer zit ik nu in 'de derde leeftijd'. Ik schreef eerder een blog over 'de derde leeftijd' en een leven lang leren in 2013. Noot 1 PvdA Als trotse Boomer blijf ik actief voor de politieke partij van mijn keuze: de PvdA! In de eerste helft van 2022 horen daar naast kandidaat nummer 22 op de lijst van de PvdA campagne voor de gemeenteraad in Amsterdam ook demonstraties op het terrein van vrouwenrechten bij! Ik kocht na het geweldige succes voor de PvdA in Amsterdam 9 rode rozen.

In mijn blog als kandidaat besteedde ik onder andere aandacht aan grensoverschrijdend gedrag in 2022 en aan de strijd voor het vrouwenkiesrecht in 2019 in NL. Net als in 2019 toen ik PvdA-kandidaat nummer 15 was voor het Europees Parlement publiceerde ik nu een playlist met 22 nummers uit mijn eigen geschiedenis. Noot 2. Digitale vaardigheden Als kandidaat van de PvdA in Amsterdam leerde ik nieuwe digitale vaardigheden zoals het werken met Microsoft Teams en betere digitale vaardigheden via het gebruik van mijn accounts op Insta en Facebook. Ook leerde ik beter WhatsApp te gebruiken. Mijn favoriete social media tool blijft echter Twitter. Het aantal volgers van @ArinaNoel groeide van 1177 (eind november) naar 1198 op 29 maart = + 21. Op LinkedIn kreeg ik er in dezelfde periode 73 connecties bij, op Facebook groeide het aantal vrienden (V/M/X) met 24 en het aantal volgers op Insta groeide met 72. Mijn blog op angerman.europa scoorde 3.000 extra pageviews en stond op meer dan 90.000 pageviews. Op 5 juli 2022 is de stand op de socials: Twitter 1221 volgers, Insta 334 volgers en Facebook 472 vrienden (V/M/X). Op LinkedIn heb ik nu 1403 connecties. Voor mij is en blijft LinkedIn mijn digitale rolodex! Het aantal pageviews op dit blog is meer dan 95.500 sinds het begin in 2011. Ik wil mij blijven inzetten voor het verbeteren van digitale vaardigheden voor oudere kiezers om gelijke kansen in de praktijk te stimuleren: volwasseneducatie betekent continue - ook in de 'derde leeftijd'- digitale vaardigheden blijven leren. Datavakbond Ik was op zoek naar een nieuwe bestuurlijke functie en ben op 14 mei 2022 gekozen als penningmeester van de Datavakbond. Voor leden van het bestuur was mijn 'derde leeftijd' geen probleem! In de tweede helft van 2022 blijf ik werken aan het verminderen van de genderkloof (datagap) tussen vrouwen en mannen. Noot 3. RoodGroen Mede doordat ik samen met de jongste kandidaat op de lijst van de PvdA in Amsterdam, Geert Noordzij, een vlog maakte en in juni 2022 de kans kreeg om me uit te spreken op het PvdA Congres draag ik nu rode + groene gelakte nagels. Ik ben voor RoodGroen omdat ik op de lijst stond met de inspirerende PvdA lijsttrekkers Frans Timmermans in 2019 en Marjolein Moorman in 2022. Noot 4. Beide wonnen de verkiezingen en werden als PvdA de grootste politieke partij in het Europees Parlement (6 zetels) en in de gemeenteraad van Amsterdam (9 zetels). Tijdens mijn korte pitch tijdens het PvdA Congres op 10 juni 2022 steunde ik de beweging voor RoodGroen inclusief de twee dochters van juf Anne! Boomer Boomer als woord werd ontzettend bekend door de uitdrukking 'OK Boomer' in 2019. Mijn kleinbedrijf heet sinds 2016 Social Media 4 Boomers en staat sinds december 2020 'on hold'. Gelukkig ben ik tot in de 'derde leeftijd' economisch onafhankelijk gebleven. Noot 5. Ook in de 'derde leeftijd' blijf ik als Boomer actief voor activiteiten in het kader van feminisme, duurzaamheid en digitale vaardigheden! Medio 2022 lijken mijn grote passies als feminist en als digitaal vaardige 'early adopter' een ideale combi te zijn. Duurzaam betekent voor mij als kennismanager vooral dat het wiel van kennis niet opnieuw hoeft te worden uitgevonden. Internet & Financial independence for women - #lifelonglearning

In september 2016 I shared my experiences as a feminist in a personal letter with 50 participants of the AGORA '16 Young Feminist Summer School of the European Women's Lobby. I - Arina Angerman - started my conscious feminist journey in 1979 when I discovered The Second Sex by Simone de Beauvoir. I bought my Penguin Book in February and read the “Translator’s Preface” and “Introduction”. At that time I studied social and political history of the 20th century in Groningen, the Netherlands, and became an active member (volunteer) of the women’s history movement in the Netherlands.

Looking back as an ‘experienced’ feminist activist I want to share with you as readers (F/M) of this blog two big challenges & inspiring experiences in my life: Internet & Financial independence for women. 

1.     Internet is a new opportunity 
In 1995 as an expert participation of women in political decision-making 

I was in between jobs and had a big challenge. I found a new inspiring 

opportunity in the world wide web! In 1995 I participated as a volunteer in 

the NGO Forum in Huairou during the United Nations 4th World’s Women Conference in Beijing (China). In Huairou I started sending emails (blogs) and learned how to use the world wide web (Internet) by developing my digital skills. At the photo below I’m the woman with the cap.

5th September 1995 I sended an e-mail 'Women in decision making' from Huairou to Amsterdam. I wrote a.o. ''Half the world; half the power. We love power and it is okay.'' 

2.     Financial independence for women

My most challenging experience was always and still is to be financial independent as a woman. I have earned money for more than 20 years as a project (program) manager or managing director (1988-2010) by working four days a week. I have had ten different jobs by which I contributed to my personal pension. In 2015 I learned that I have a state pension gap of two years! That’s why I now have different types of income: a personal pension, work as an entrepreneur and a part time job as telemarketer. In hindsight I was able to end my love relationship with a man when I was 30+ and another man when I was 40+ because I was a feminist and financial independent.

What I know now and what I couldn’t have known when I was 25 years old: one out of three women have experienced sexual and/or physical violence in the EU. Lifelong learning of new skills can play a great role to improve women’s economic rights and independence. 

Update september 2019
My different types of income are changing. I receive a 2nd personal pension. My state pension gap diminished by 8 month. And I stopped my part time job as telemarketer. I'm still financial independent and am representing IAW in the Board of EWL 2018-2020.  
Update February 2022 I am as a woman still financial independent. I am receiving a state pension too and had to learn new eskills: i.a. how to Zoom and how to live in times of corona. I left the Board of EWL June 2021 and put my BiZ Social Media 4 Boomers on hold. Now I enjoy being a candidate at spot #22 of my political party PvdA of which I became a member in 1991, in Amsterdam during the local elections #GR2022. Lifelong learning continues now by learning how to better use Insta.
